Ił-14 is a Soviet propeller plane serving as a passenger and transport airplane, designed by a team of designers headed by Sergey Vladimirovich Ilyushin. Ił-14P was introduced to passenger transport in November 1954 by the Soviet airlines Aeroflot. By the end of the 1980’s outside the Soviet Union Ił-14 planes were used for air transport in many countries allied with the Soviet Union, including Poland. The airplane’s performance in flights in polar areas was very good.
