This art centre, one of the most modern centres of its kind in Warsaw, started operating in 2006. Activities conducted by the centre are targeted at all inhabitants of Warsaw, regardless of age, or social background. By means of educational and cultural courses Bemowo art centre makes it possible for the inhabitants of Warsaw to develop their artistic and cognitive skills. Within the art centre there is a modeling workshop — Aeromodelklub Warszawa — established in 1979. Members of the club participating in workshops get the chance to build various flying models, from the most basic kinds to remote-controlled models. Moreover, at club meetings it is possible to learn more about aviation, including the fascinating history of aviation.

Many Polish pilots, including the first Polish astronaut Mirosław Hermaszewski, started their experience with aviation from modelling. One of the pupils of Warsaw’s Aeromodelklub is dr inż. Adam Przekop currently working as a scientific employee at NASA.
